First trip to the park
Today Callum and I went for a super long walk to try and help Mummy lose some of those unsightly pregnancy lbs. I couldn't resist putting him in the toddler swing. As you can tell he is way too small for the swing, but he's also way too small for his suit. There isn't actually anything in the legs of the suit! Callum got really hungry in the park today and rather than listen to a screaming boy all the way home I decided to breast feed him in the park. I know, I know, it was slightly weird, but I felt like a true BCer. In fact, I felt like I should be wearing socks with sandals while munching on granola too!
Glider and ottoman
The glider and ottoman are not only good looking pieces of furniture, but are very comfortable as well. I was amazed at how much furniture we could pack into his room :)
Combo
The best invention ever - a diaper change table combined with a dresser. This way, when he gets older and out of those nasty nappies he has a very nice dresser.
Giant orange hippo.
At the PNE Fair this summer Graham won the giant, orange hippo (along with many other toys). We both thought it would be a perfect and fun toy for Callum's room. In actual fact, he will probably have some weird phobia of hippos now!
You swine!
In the corner of Callum's room there is a long string of hand carved swine that my Dad gave to me during his (short) trip in May. He gave them to me because he couldn't resist buying it during his last trip to Thailand. They are supposed to bring good fortune and the idea was that when we were going to have a child the string of pigs could hang in his/her room. The oddball thing is, I was actually pregnant when he gave them to me, but I didn't know!
Callum's nursery
The following pictures are of Callum's (yet to be used) nursery. Actually everything else in his nursery has been used loads except for the crib. He only lays in it for short time periods during the day right now. I am trying to get him used to the crib before we put him in it at 3 months.
What you gonna do with all that junk? All that junk back in your trunk?
It's funny because I didn't even realize it had a trunk and then one of my friends opened it and it had 3 catnip toys in it. Too bad I don't have a cat!
Callum's first car...and what a car it is!
No doubt Callum will be the coolest kid around in his new Ford hotrod. Once his legs are functional and long enough he will be rippin' up the pavement. Watch out ladies!

Between the poos...
I know it's been a while since my last post, but I am sure you can understand why. Life with Callum is everything I expected and more, way more!
I've not had much experience with babies, try none at all, so taking care of my own for the last 6 weeks has been quite exciting and tiring. I have neglected most of my friends, but I expect that if they are true friends they will understand and be happy to welcome me back once I feel ready.
Callum and I have had a few excursions downtown, a few trips to the malls, etc. and we are getting better at it every day. He has resolved himself to the fact that he is going to be dragged through endless shopping trips until he gets older and can complain more! It has been fun playing dress up with him. I dreaded the baby clothes because you have to dig through girls stuff before being able to find anything for the boys, but as it turns out he looks adorable in anything so it doesn't matter.
We had Callum weighed today and he is now a strapping young lad weighing in at a staggering 10lbs. 2oz.! If I can get him to stretch out long, I will measure his length as well. He seems to still like having the wee frog legs.
Breast feeding has been a bit of a nightmare. At first because he was so small, his jaw was under developed and he couldn't latch on properly so I had to use a nipple shield. It was really awkward and very frustrating, but now that he is a bit bigger we have moved on from the J.J. as we fondly referred to it. J.J. is because of Janet Jackson and her nipple shield incident. Now the biggest problem we have is that my milk production is quite low and therefore I have to supplement him with formula and that makes me sad. Not only that, but it's a heck of a lot of work pumping, formula feeding and breast feeding. I am very committed to making this work though. I have started drinking a tea called Momma's Tea that is supposed to aid in breast milk production - fingers crossed that it works.
Well, it's 9:30p.m. which means I have to jet. We are trying to set a routine to make life a bit more predictable and Callum knows he gets fed at this time. Would you say no to a brute like him?
